Some simple tips;
1. Understand the basic structure of the displayed search results, usually the meta title and meta description like the Google search result below appears,
2. Consider yourself as a potential visitor and determine their search intent, then align your content with their search intent.
3. Write title tags that include the relevant keywords. (Keep these under 70 characters to avoid truncation.)
4. Write meta descriptions that match search intent expanding on the title tag and containing keywords, keywords from searches often appear in bold in the Google search results. (Keep these under 160 characters to avoid truncation.)
This is very easily accomplished in Joomla, look in the Metadata tab in a Joomla menu item where you will find the Meta Description field, and in the Page Display tab you will find Browser Page Title and Page Heading. This is just an example, you will find these settings elsewhere in whatever extensions you are using or in the Joomla content manager.
