All Joomla sites are different so the steps below can change depending on the site but this provides general overview of the process.

Step 1 We create you a user account on on our secure private support helpdesk site where we will request information which you can provide securely. 
The following tickets are created and assigned to you 

• Joomla (for super user login credentials)
• Hosting (for hosting access credentials)

Step 2 We conduct an Initial review of the following;

• Website Analytics Status
• Google Search Console Status
• Bing Webmaster Tools Status
• XML Site Maps Status

And perform Mobile and Desktop Page load speed test using Gtmetrix

This is all documented in our ticketing system and we assign tickets to you when we need information or feedback

Step 3 We determine the following;

• Joomla version, extensions and update status.
• Site backup status.
• Joomla site settings status. (Site Name, Site Meta Description, Site Name in Page Titles, URL Rewriting, Robots setting, cache settings, GZIP)
• Site hosting and configuration status. (PHP version, Database version etc..)
• SSL status.
• SEF URL status.
• Canonical URL status
• URL redirect status.
• Page META title status.
• Page META description status.
• Page Header tags status (H1, H2, H3)

We then create a plan and address any issues we find This is all documented in our ticketing system and we assign tickets to you when we require information or feedback.

Step 4. Usually this is something along the lines of the following;

• Creating a Google Search Console Property for the site if it doesn't already exist and providing you access.
• Creating a Bing Webmaster Tools Property for the site if it doesn't already exist and providing you access.
• If you already have Web Analytics (Google Analytics for example) we will request access and confirm tracking is in place and working, if not we will set up Google Analytics or alternative Privacy-respecting analytics like Matomo for example.
• Submit our recommendations for Joomla version, extensions and update status if any. 
• Submit our recommendations for Site hosting configuration changes if any.
• Submit  our recommendations to improve page loading speed.
• Propose Joomla site settings changes if any and seek approval prior to implementation. (Site Name, Site Meta Description, Site Name in Page Titles, URL Rewriting, Robots setting, cache settings, GZIP)
• Site hosting and configuration status. (PHP version, Database version etc..)
• Installation and configuration of Akeeba Backup Professional (Commercial License $55) followed by a site backup prior to making any changes.
• Installation and configuration of JSitemap Professional (Commercial License valued at $55)
• Installation and configuration of a canonical URL extension if required to prevent search engine duplicate content problems,
• Generating a dynamic XML sitemap and an HTML sitemap with a hidden menu item until completed
• Crawling the site with the JSitemap built in SEO spider, analysis of the results, make changes, create template overrides if needed  re-crawl etc, until we are confident that everything is in place.
• Submission of the XML sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools
•  Add a link in your site ti the HTML sitemap
• Add the XML sitemap(s) to the robots file

Once the SEO tools are in place on your website you can then begin to monitor performance using Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to analyse search performance, page views, traffic sources, search terms etc. You can also use your web analytics if helpful at this stage depending on your scenario.

We then provide you with a basic SEO strategy and a task list which varies with each site but usually includes adjusting and creating additional meta titles and meta descriptions as a priority. Usually this is followed by adjusting and creating alternative descriptions for images and titles for links in your pages.
